Dr. Isidor Rises from Traditional Healer to Traditional Authority
The elevation of Dr. Isidor from modern traditional doctor to traditional authority is a testament not only to his administrative wisdom and spiritual magnanimity, but also to what many see as his divinely ordained mission to serve humanity.
His official presentation to the Noni community and the public at the Regional Delegation of Basic Education for the Northwest was more than a ceremony. It became a vivid display of the cultural dynamism and unity of the Noni people living in Bamenda.
The official presentation of Dr. Isidor Ghane to the public as Fai Wu Nsem was conducted by Kinengte Palace of Djottin. The ceremony was corroborated by other fons, notables, the chairperson of the occasion, and other dignitaries. Notably present was the Mayor of Nkor Council, Ndi Germanus Nchaji. His open declaration of allegiance to the new traditional authority signals intent to collaborate, in line with the role of traditional authorities as auxiliaries of the administration.
His coronation came after six months of thorough investigation to ascertain that he was worthy of the position as head of the palace’s secret shrine where purification and confession take place.
He explained that all palaces in the Northwest Region have such shrines known in his village as "Nsem," though the name differs from place to place.
Dr. Isidor’s selection as head of his village’s "Nsem" follows his years of practising traditional medicine that aligns with nature and maintains a direct link with the ancestors.
He affirmed, that “Our ancestors are in nature, and nature is in our ancestors.”
As both a modern traditional doctor and head of Dr. Isidor Modern Holistic Traditional Medicine Clinic, he urged the population to return to nature and consume African natural foods to stay healthy. He lamented that Africans have fallen short of nature’s grace and are now plagued by many illnesses because "we abandoned those medicinal, natural foods".
The official’s introduction was spiced by vibrant traditional performances from Noni Subdivision . Driven by the drumbeats, the officials and invited guests poured onto the floor, turning the ceremony into a full-blown cultural jamboree.
The event left a lasting impression in the minds of lovers of culture.
