Public Works Minister announces rehabilitation of Dibamba Bridge

H.E Emmanuel Nganou Njoumessi, most pragmatic and result- oriented Minister Following concerns raised by road users about the tremour of the Dibamba Bridge, the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, in his usual proactive nature informs the public in a note dated February 13, 2026 that “structural” vibrations were indeed reported while crossing the 370-meter structure, commissioned in 1984 and rehabilitated in 2013 and again in 2017.                Dibamba Bridge  According to the Minister, an assessment conducted by the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering and a teams from the ministry indicated that the tremor is   linked to malfunctioning of the  expansion joints, cracks on an eastern abutment, and localized deterioration of the road surface.Although the foundation  is  stable. Newly enthroned Fon Tem II of Kung village.  The community of Kung, in Menchum Division, Fungom Subdivision, is plagued by traditional leadership crisis, following the dethronement of incumbent Fon_Kum_Gilbert given his long stay abroad. He is said to have been replaced by Fon Tem II. Report from the said community hold that their customary law and tradition requires a reigning fon to be physically present on the throne of the fondom to perform essential cultural, spiritual, and rituals rites.
