Bangolan village split into camps over chieftain legitimacy.

senator  Fon Chafac Isaac

Bangolang village in Babessi subdivision- Ngoketunjia Division  is divided into factions following media declaration by some  elite that  incombent Fon Chafac Isaac has been dethroned. Their push to replace Senator  Fon Chafac Issac is allegedly based on his long absence in the village  and  desecration of their  tradition.

Fon  Chafac is said to be at variance with their culture and tradition, given his admission  and practice of certain Christian norms in the palace.
An  elite who pleaded anonymity  reacting  to the stalemate in a chat  with the Vanguard, lambasted the declaration arguing that it is unorthodox and will not be approved by the administration and majority of them.
He disclosed  that those heralding the replacement of fon Chafac are not  king makers, but his brothers mashinating to take his position. He said.  " All prince them  like  for fon,my brother, it is not strange. It is a common phenomenon  in most parts of Northwest.  So Bangolan is not an isolated case. I recently head about the  same tussle in Nkwen, wum, etc. " To me ,it is a none vent as we still recognise  Senator Fon Chafac as  our legitimate fon. "
He raised concerns about  the low turnout  of the population at the scene where the protesters made the media  declaration.
This, he says, is an  indication  of the indifference of a huge majority of the population to the  decisions.
He stated that the protagonists  are those interested in the throne not fighting for the people.
Most of them, according to our sources, are trying to make mountains from ants hills to crucify the fon. "But it will not work." He said.

Senator Fon Chafac, according to most  elite, is still their legitimate fon .  They  have forgotten that  things have changed as fons must be gazzetted by the administration and put on a salary by the government .
 The elite further questioned if
there is a calamity in the village as a result of  the introduction of Christianity  in the palace or   because of the absence of the fon?
What, therefore, is the problem? He asked.
He further argued that  Fon Chafac is not the only Fon who has been out of the palace for over ten years.Since   the outbreak of the Anglophones crisis many traditional authorities have been forced to  abandoned, palaces and   villages to sake refuge in towns. No sound thinking man can blame his fon for not staying in his palace.  Unless he belongs to the opposing camp to be able to  stay home.. Although the Fon, may have some issues with his brother's or some elite   like any other humanbeing,  the elite should not go to the extend of fragmenting the village by trying to introduce someone as the new fon of the village in replacement of Fon Chafac when he is still alive.  This is  an attempt to spoil our culture.  He warned.  We need peace in our village to be able to address the current crisis plaguing our development. It is not reasonable for use to ignite another problem that will hinder our social cohesion.  He went on.
The elite further raised concerns about  the absence of  the king makers. Their  muteness or absence in the media  utterances is an indication of their neutrality or utter indifference to the move.
Normally, the declaration would have been made by a king maker to authenticate the call for replacement, if at all they know what the tradition holds.  In this regard, what they have declared is a nullity and baseless diatribe doomed to fail.
