SUDAHSER lauds MINTP and ILO for 25 open counter sheds.*





International Labour Organisation ( ILO) officially  handed 25 open counter market sheds to Bamenda III Council  to boost economic activities of rural women  in  the neighbourhood of Ntahsen . 
The programme falls Within the ambit of youths employability a component of the.
Ring Road. 
Speaking at the official handing over of the sheds to Bamenda 3 council recently, the  National  Coordinator of International labour organisation (ILO),Tayong Etienne, hailed  80 youths  who to participated  in the construction works. 
He was optimistic that the technical knowledge  acquired during the construction works would enable them gain employment in  in going Public Works projects in the region. 

On his part,the executive Director of Sustainable Development and Humanitarian  Services ( SUDAHSER),Simon Peter  lauded  the Ministry of  Public works and the International Labour Organisation  (ILO) for the  provision  of  25 open counters market sheds for the population of Bamenda 3 council . He further expressed satisfaction that Labour the  Intensive approach  enabled young the men and women to acquire   technical skills that will make them more productive to their communities and the nation  as a whole. 

  The technical knowledge, according to the Director, has " turned knowledge into concrete structures that will  serve the traders and the community Ntahsen for many years."   The project falls within the ambit of youths employability  ,a programme of the Ministry of Public Works which aim at  creating employment for 2500 youths  in the region. Although the program was initially reserved for only  councils located along the National  Road No 11, the programme has been  extended to 17 councils of the region to create employment  and  reduce social crime, orchestrated by joblessness amongst youths.  "The overall  focus is  implementing   activities to support  the  employability of youths  through iIntensive  labour   approach,  while impacting technical knowledge that would enable them gain employment in the ongoing Ring Road projects of MINTP  in the region. 

  Mayor  Fungo Cletus of Bamenda  III Council who was on ground to recieve the project  on behalf of the population pf Bamenda 3 council hailed the Ministry of Public Works,  ILO and the funding body for the material assistance that would  transform the municipality to a vibrant  business hub ,fostering economic  development and social cohesion in the  neighbourhood of Ntasen - below Foncha. 


  He further expressed  joy that the 25 open  counters  will ease  structuring of market space ,boost revenue collection,  while stepping  up the operational capacity of the local farmers, and the market women.


The youths who gained technical knowledge during the construction works expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Public Works for the opportunity given them to learn " somethingnew". The trainess were groomed on exploitation of construction plan,setting out consternation projects,composition of materials for concrete and block works ,shaping iron rods, formwork,molding ,construction of masonry works ,prepare roof truss,, ratter and plastering  tecniqued. 
This they expressed delight that the technical knowledge will enable them gain employment in most projects in town and beyond.  " we thank  the Ministry of public works for enabling us  gain technical  skills that  would make us   more  productive and useful to the nation"  The also  expressed wish for absorption in the on going Ring Road and  other on going  public works projects in the region to enable them put into practice the knowledge acquired.
