Xynephobia against Anglophone in Makenene
There is growing consternation in Makenene following an alleged strong dislike of the Anglophones in that parts of the centre region.
Anglophones, both from Northwest and southwest, settled in this area, both new and old, are reportedly being chased away from their homes and farm lands by indegence.
The decision to oust Anglophone francophnes from the area is allegedly endursed by their traditional ruler, whose name is not known by our source.
The decision by the traditional authority to empower his subjects to expell Anglophones from their village contravene the law of Cameroon which states that all the land of the nation belongs to the state and all Cameroonians are free to settle and exploit the land where they are.
This call by the head of state has been abrogated. It is, however, not clear if raor has been orchestrated by the Anglophones crisis.
The Makenene people in the centre region have reportedly declared angIophones unwanted in their community and should immediately exit.
This is said to have resulted in extreme brutality and burning of properties ,housesand seizure of farm lands from the angIophones who have been living in the area for decades. No official statement has been made by the traditional or the administrative authorities .
