Bamenda Wimbum community accompany Dr Nsame to bid farewell to fallen Hero
The residence of the Director of Bamenda Regional Hospital to was on Saturday February 15 transformed to a cultural nucleus following an influx of Wimbum traditional dances that turn out in their numbers to accompany the Director Nsame Denis to give the last goodbye to his father Pa Johnson Nforninwi Nfor alias “ Ta Lamntang” a Nfuh member who slept in the lord and Buried in Ndu Sub Division of Donga Mantung Division some months back. Pa Ta Lamntang Nforninwe was a venerated cultural luminary Wimbum in Yaounde Centre Region, before his passing onto glory. This explains why the Wimbum population of Bamenda had the moral duty to pair their last respect to the great fallen hero- Ta Lamntang Johnson Nforninwe . The occasion that was full of colour , cultural fanfare and a rainbow animation, saw the presence of three very important traditional authorities of Mbum Land, Notably the Head Tang Clan Head, His Royal Highness Fon Charles K. Kamanda, Fon of NJilach and Fon of Ngarum Village HRH Fon Nganji IV and the Sub Chief Fai Ndibognko of Ngaa – Bongom Village amongst other five sub chiefs . The attendance of these great traditional authorities did not only carry with it royal blessings but a testament of the importance and the esteem to which Dr. Nsame Denis is held within the Wimbum community in Bamenda. The “ Nfuh” male royal dance in which Dr. Nsame Denis is also Commander stole the show as onlookers were amazed by the drum beats and the dexterity with which members responded to the sounds and beats. The Nfuh dance according to Wimbum tradition, is reserved for venerated elite and traditional authorities. It comes out only when a dignitary joins his ancestors, or when there is an important event or visit of a traditional authority of Mbum land to an elite of very high social standing. Dr. Nsame further explained that Nfuh dance is the security nucleus of Mbum culture, acting as Vanguards of the villages in times of crisis. Quizzed on his title of Taa “ Nformi”, he explained that it means (commander) of the village military battalion. He was corroborated by Taa Nformi Dr. Ndikontar an exceptional Nfuh head who happened to be the leader of the Bamenda Nfuh group. Taa Nformi Dr. Ndikontar further explained that Pa Lamntang Nforninwe was a great cultural celebrity of Wimbum in Yaounde. Taa Nformi Dr. Nsame Denis expressed gratitude to all who joined him to bid bye to his father.
