Jakiri MP Donates to Internally Displaced Children
Internally displaced parents, pupils and students residing in Bamenda, recently received a huge consignment of didactic material and other valuables from Hon.Verla Fostine.
The IDPs were visible satisfied especially with the didactics material and washing soap donated by their MP. It was stitch on good time given the challenges faced by parents with children of school going age this time around.
The material donated were Ledgers, exercise books, school bags,pens, pencils rulers,erasers, washing soap etc.
Inspite the security and social challenges faced by the IDPs , the parliament reminded them that there are hopes for a better tomorrow as no condition is permanent. And to better prepare for the future, parents were exhorted to send their children to school.
Apart from the fact that education remain the only treasure a parent can give a child, " the only weapon we can use to change the world is education ". She said. She insisted that" Education is the fundamental right of all children without regards to sex.
On this premise, she warned that those trying to hold back the education of the Anglophones Children will some day regrete their act because even their born children shall one day face them for frustrating their future.
Hon. Verla was not only worried but very bitter with the unethical political brouhaha that has frustrated thousands of Anglophone children of school age. " No matter what, children should be allowed to go school. She insisted.
She urged the children to be committed in their accadimics works, so that "you will one day be parliamenterians,Minister and why not the President of this country . You can only become a great personality if you go to school. She exhorted them.
Corroborating the call for hard work and responsible citizenship,the 3rd Deputy Mayor Mboyen Christopher who represented the mayor at the occasion, exhorted the pupils and students to be committed in their accadimics works. He reminded them they are the only hope of their parents who have lost almost everything due to the political stalemste.
" As success is when preparations meets opportunity " only those who could haveafe it in education will be successful in life. he said.
It is thus incumbent on parents to assist and corroborate the teachers both in moral upbringing and accadimics works for the children to be successful .
Hon.Verla has since becoming a parliament exhibit politics of proximity by empowering women of her constituency and assisting them with farm inputs amongst other things that could step up their social standards.
Her assiduity to his electorate apparently accounts for her repeated media recognition, the most recent being VIMMA INTERNATIONAL AWARD for politics of proximity.
