Operation 100 FRS, to change Muslims social standards in Cameroon.

HRM. Gen. Housseinni Djibo, brain behind the laudable initiative

Operation FCFA 100frs donations is a novelty in community Development   in Cameroon. It is a modest and simplest Community Development approach introduced by the Muslims called, Cameroon Muslim Development Association wherein, faithful    contribute only 100 FRS each, daily for sustainable development. The project however allows for upfront contributions either for a week, months or a period of one year as deemed Donor.  ‘It will work like magic and  would catapult the Muslims to an imaginable sublime  position in development no one has ever thought of, if it well propagated and managed”.  Says one Alphones Niba,  an onlooker who listened to the  philosophy, the vision and methodic approach therein, as heralded by HRM Gen. Housseinni Djobo, pathfinder of the Development Association.  The concept, methodology and the overall vision which aims at enlivening Muslims culture, propelling them to modernity to stand the   21st century developing challenges, is highly solemnized by Muslim Faithfulls’ as seen  during  the official introduction at the  metropolitan mosques   at old town Bamenda Northwest Region.    This is the beginning of new era for the Muslims who hitherto have been socially and economically retarded, owing to their individualistic comportment void of   community development driven spirit.  The culture of charity to the needy is so limited and encouraging some families to embrace the act of begging as subtle,  easiest  way to end a living.  The pathfinder, HMR Gen. Houseinni Djibo considers the  culture of begging  repugnant , less productive and appalling in the 21st century. The vision of Cameroon Muslim Development Association is  to change the narrative  , enable the Muslims to champion  the development of the communities, thereby  making them match with other denominations like the Catholics, the Presbyterians ,Full Gospel etc that  create, build  and run their schools, hospitals etc.  The Cameroon Muslim Development Association will  give more impetus to Islam, galvanizes unity, development and above all   give hope to their followers as well.  “this going to be a game changer to the Muslims”. HRM Gen Housseini Djibo. Apart from the fact that it gives them as sense of belonging and secures jobs for their followers, the move would encourage self sufficiency amongst the Muslims.  He went on.  It is hoped that if only one million Muslims faithfuls donate CFA 100 frs per day, they will be able to raise 100 million per day, and by the end of the year, they would have raised FCFA 36.5 billion.  Gen Housseini Djibo expressed hope that the project will change the lives of many under privilege faithfuls and enable them educate their children,  build schools, hospitals etc as deemed by the regional committees that shall be charged with the management of the funds at the end of  every  years.   The pathfinder is optimistic that the funds will be judiciously managed as the   regional representatives   is will be made of only men or women of probity who will be accountable to the population.   All the funds are channeled into a bank account blocked for a period of one year, and projects to be carried out in various Muslim communities shall be determined by the regional committees, based on the needs of the people they represent in the General Assembly.      HRM Gen. Housseinni Djibo   expresses optimism that through the project, Muslims will  be able to  build their own schools,  hospitals and  trained their children to become Doctors, Nurses and Midwives  to take care of the parents, peers, mothers and especially pregnant women  gagged by their culture from being attended  to  by men during  child birth.“Is taboo as per the Muslim culture for women to be manipulated by men during delivery”.   This explains why most Muslim women prefer to give birth at home in spite the health hazards.  The effect are however so ramified as some children born out of hospitals end up not obtaining birth certificates. Acquisition  National Identity Cards amongst other national documents  becomes an issue as they grow up to face the challenges of life.   It is  on this premise that it is incumbent on all Muslims to embrace the association seen by most as a panacea to the plight of the Muslims in Cameroon.   Apart from  the fact the initiative will  propel  them to modernity,  galvanizing their culture and maintaining  the secret and  dignity of women, the project will create employment for youths , enable  muslims to   build  their own hospitals, train their own children to become Doctors, Nurses and Midwives.       The Cameroon Muslim Development Association, according to pundits will be a panacea to the woes of the Muslims stagnated for over 60 years after independence.   HRM Gen. Housseinni Djibo opines that “if we don’t change our approach to development by encouraging self sustaining initiatives, educate our children and reduce construction of mosque to allow for the education of our children, some day those mosques will be without preachers and eventually be empty. The best treasure you can give a child is education regardless of the sex.  He says Islam   does not restrict girl children from going to school; rather prophet Mohamed encourages education to all without regards to sex.      The project is gathering steam and highly solicited in most parts of the nation after Bamenda, Foumban, and Garoua he visited after the official launching in Bamenda.
